Disney *** Marriages

Filed Under Relationships | Comments Off

Chris Chew asked:

If you think that Orlando Disneyland is a magical wonderland for family vacations, this article will jolt you to reality.

This is because gays and ******* couples can exchange marriage vows in Orlando Disneyland Cinderella’s Castle for sometime now. Is there anything wrong with that? Well, is there anything wrong with that?

The Walt Disney Company used to limit its Fairy Tale Wedding programs to couples with legitimate marriage licenses before, but is now making wedding ceremonies at its parks available to *** and ******* couples as well. Why would they want to do that and earn the ire of the conservatives in the society is anyone’s guess. Is the pull of the pink dollar too attractive to ignore?

It is a fact that since 1991, gays and ******** would gather in Disney World Orlando in the first week of June in what is now known as “Disney *** Week” in the *** and ******* community. It was estimated that last year, about 135,000 *** revelers traveled to the Orlando Disney theme the park for *** parties and for a taste of Disney magic.

Disney’s controversial decision to host *** and ******* weddings have of course drawn loud and shrill protests from family oriented groups, Christian conservative groups and other interest groups. There were even occassionally some scattered violence when homophobes confront pockets of gays.

“I want to point out that this event is not called *** Days in Orlando, but is called *** Days at Walt Disney World, and as such, we believe Disney is responsible for all the activities that take place under the umbrella of this event, whether it takes place on Disney property or off Disney property. As you can see, there is plenty of offensive ********** activities taking place within the Disney theme parks that would shock most parents and their young children.” Christian Action Network President Martin Mawyer reportedly said.

In 2005, a Southern Baptists movement ended an eight-year boycott of the Walt Disney Company for violating “moral righteousness and traditional family values.”

However, Disney Parks and Resorts spokesman Donn Walker defended the Disney policy by saying “We believe this change is consistent with Disney’s long-standing policy of welcoming every guest in an inclusive environment. We want everyone who comes to celebrate a special occasion at Disney to feel welcomed and respected.”

Disney World said it finally allowed *** and ******* marriages to be solemnized in its ground after being contacted by a *** couple who wanted to use Disney’s wedding services, which offers wedding ceremonies at Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida Orlando and on Disney’s vacation cruise ships.

The wedding services and celebrations offered by Disney include flowers, dining, music, singers and many optional Disney magical touches such as ceremonies in front of the park’s iconic attractions and to having Mickey and Minnie Mouse appearing as invited as wedding guests. The wedding celebration and solemnization packages start at a cool $8,000 and can cost as much as $50,000.

Do you think it is the right thing to do for Disney to allow *** and ******* weddings in its theme parks?

1. You have children age 12 and under

Every child should experience the magic of Disney at some point during their childhood. It is a special trip they will never forget and will cherish forever. The only way they’ll ever experience Castaway Cay is aboard a Disney vessel. A Disney cruise is an excellent way to experience everything Disney has to offer.

2. You have teenagers

Disney cruises realized long ago that small children grow older and developed programs for teenagers also. If you go on a cruise without your teens, you’ll worry about what they’re doing while you are away. So bring them along on a Disney cruise - they’ll love it.

3. You are planning a cruise without your children

Why leave the kids with grandma when you can take the kids along on a Disney cruise? Disney cruises plan itineraries for your children (all the way to midnight) no matter the age group. So, each of you can enjoy yourselves separately, and come together for meals, ports-of-call, etc. When the children are with you, all the worrying about their well-being is eliminated.

4. Away time for the parents

With the kids safely onboard and their fun-filled itineraries planned, Mom and Dad can enjoy some time on their own with the peace-of-mind that their children are safe. Should the need arise; an onboard paging system can make contact with parents at any time. Whether you want to go to an onboard coffee shop, health spa, or a nightclub - Disney cruises understands and can accommodate you.

5. Excellent dining

Opulent dining choices are always at or near the top of all cruisers’ lists of what they want in a cruise. Disney understands this and offers excellent cuisine for all. There is even an adults-only formal restaurant, the Palo, which specializes in Northern Italian cuisine. The kids will like Animator’s Palate where Disney scenes decorate the walls and change from black-and-white to vivid color before dinner is done.

6. Onboard entertainment

Disney boats feature original productions at the Walt Disney Theatre. These area all live, Broadway-style productions with a cast of Disney characters the whole family is sure to recognize. Also, movies are featured in two locations onboard - at the state of the art Buena Vista Theatre, and under the night sky near the Goofy Pool on a jumbo LED screen. Plus, there’s more to the onboard entertainment than plays and movies - activities have been custom-tailored for all types of passengers. The Oceaneer Club is designed for the youngest sailors, ages 3-7 complete with a trained staff to help them enjoy the fun. For kids a little older, ages 8-12, there is the Oceaneer Lab with interactive games on a giant video wall. Also, kids can enjoy playing ship captain at Ocean Quest. Finally, for teens there are teen-only clubs designed to look like an apartment or dorm room where the tough-to-please can socialize with their age group. There are also activities designed for the whole family to enjoy together like the Studio Sea where Mom, Dad and the kids can participate in a live game show and sing karaoke together.

7. Locations visited by Disney Cruises

Disney Cruises feature a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. Other stops featured on the Caribbean cruises include Nassau, St. Maarten, St. Thomas/St. John, Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. The Mexican Riviera cruise features a trip from Port Canaveral through the Panama Canal with stops at Castaway Cay, Aruba, Cartagena, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Capo San Lucas.

8. You want to do something different for Spring Break

It may be a little-known fact that Disney Cruises are a very popular choice for the college-age crowd during Spring Break, and it’s easy to understand why. A Disney cruise provides an alternative for those young adults not wishing to participate in the regular rites of debauchery in which so many other young adults partake.

9. You’ve never been to Castaway Cay

Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island and it has features perfect for the whole family. Kids and teens can venture to Never Land and adults can go to Shangri-La. Of course, the whole family can relax together on the beach and take in some sun.

10. You’ve never been on a cruise

Disney Cruises is a great choice for those travelers who have never been on a cruise. Even if traveling without children the excursion will be a trip you will treasure forever. Disney cruises has many ship excursions planned no matter the season and there will surely be a trip that fits into your busy schedule.

Envision a legacy so renowned, so recognized, that the mere mention of your name inspires feelings of warmth, family and love.  This is exactly the reputation that Walt Disney established for himself, an empire so great that his company reports global revenues of more than 35 billion dollars a year.  However, business aside, the reputation he has developed for creating quality, family films, is unprecedented.  Anyone searching for a good family film that they can enjoy with their children, or that they can let their children watch on their own trusts the Disney label.  If it’s produced by Disney, no need to check!

In the world over, adults everywhere can remember their favourite Walt Disney movies, the ones that bring back those nostalgic memories of our childhood.  Countless homes have an assortment of their favourite Walt Disney movies, whether you enjoy the animated Walt Disney Movies, or the Classic Walt Disney movies.  People everywhere own treasured collections of their beloved Walt Disney movies, in hopes that their children will grow up watching the same magical Walt Disney movies that they enjoyed as kids.

One of the best animated Disney movies of all time would have to be Peter Pan.  The magical characters of Tinkerbelle, Peter Pan, and Captain Hook are a classic.  A cherished story of a fictional land called Never-Never Land, and an extraordinary boy who flies into the lives of three children and changes their world forever.  Not only is the movie a delight to watch, but it teaches a fantastic lesson about living your life to the fullest and enjoying every moment.  This is one of the best animated Disney movies, it is categorized as a classic so they often will not release it for sale, except at certain times.  Everyone should make this classic an addition to their family’s collection, your children, and grandchildren, will love it!

Another  Walt Disney movie, not officially categorized as a classic but definitely one of the best animated Disney movies, the Hans Christian Anderson treasured fairy tale, The Little Mermaid.  Whether you are a child or a grown-up, you will adore this exciting adventure of a mermaid who falls in love with a human, she makes a deal with an evil sorceress to trade her fins for legs.  The kids love the fun of singing along with the sea creatures, while parents learn a valuable lesson about letting their children learn from their own mistakes.

The little girl’s who are partial to The Little Mermaid, will absolutely love The Beauty and the Beast.  Once again, Walt Disney has taken a famous fairy tale and turned it into a magical movie that is one for your collection.  This movie portrays a wonderful message about seeing past a person’s outer appearance and finding their inner beauty.  What little girl doesn’t dream of being the beautiful Belle and finding her prince?

It’s virtually impossible to put together a list of the best animated Disney movies, there are too many of them, and if you ask people what their favourite Walt Disney movie is you are guaranteed to get a different answer every time.  One thing is for sure, Walt Disney has created an outstanding legacy, whether it’s the cherished movies we love, or the Theme Parks visited by millions of families every year. The name Walt Disney is synonymous with family and his reputation is uncontested!

Kenneth Scott asked:

Even though Disney has produced myriad movies, it is more popular for its animated ones. After starting the animated journey with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in the winter of 1937, Disney movies have not looked back. One can obtain a list of more than 150 animated Disney movies that have been produced and distributed to add to the joy of children across the world.

After a certain age, kids grow out of Sesame Street, Tellytubbies and BooBaahs. At this time the next level of entertainment that attracts them generally are the Disney movies that appeal to a slightly older age group. The great thing about these movies, which has probably led to the huge popularity of the Disney movies, is the fact that they appeal to adults and children alike. A mother does not mind sitting through a Disney movie with her child but an episode of Tellytubbies can be wearisome.

To the uninitiated, it may be a surprise that each Disney movie comes accompanied with a Disney movie book. These books are published under the Mouse Works banner and contain a simple version of the story. This can help in encouraging children to not only see the Disney movies but also to read books, which hopefully will extend to other forms of reading at some time.

Though the company is proud of all its Disney movie productions, some of them have attained the stature of classics based on their popularity. Abound with simple, yet meaningful songs these Disney movies can expose the child to emotions, morals and ways of the world while telling a story. Toddlers seem to enjoy the light evilness of some of the characters like the witch in Snow White and Cruella De Vil in the 101 Dalmations. Alternately, some of the most endearing characters that Disney movies have created are Tramp in The Lady and the Tramp and the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. But most of the leading characters in Disney movies inspire awe and amazement aided by the color, grandeur and dazzle.

Some of the Disney movies that have become all time favorites of most kids are The Lion King, Toy Story, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, The little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella and of course Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Some of the less known but equally enticing Disney movies are the sequels to the Lion King, Dumbo, Lilo and Stitch, Pooh and Kim Possible series.

In spite of the high levels of endearment that the Disney movies enjoy among most people, there are rumors galore about how there are countless hidden references to ********* things in the animated movies. The most known references are made to the tower on the cover of The Little Mermaid that resembles the male genitalia, the apparent ******** of the priest in the wedding scene of the same movie and the dust taking the form of the word *** in The Lion King. Hearsay has it that Donald Duck has used vulgar words umpteen times during angry outbreaks. Some opine that these subtle references have become a tradition at the Disney studios.

This tradition started due to the fact that Walt Disney did not assign relevant credits to the creative animators. These animators, then, took to including hidden codes in the animation scenes to get back. One such example is that of the shorts that Goofy wears. If you look close enough, you will probably see names of artists written on these shorts. Though the given instance seems possible, the inclusion of debauchery in the animated Disney movies is debatable and it remains a question as to whether it is a fact or the Rorschach effect.

A Disney vacation aboard a Disney cruise ship has the potential of being one of the most memorable moments of your life. Almost nothing can compare to it in terms of non stop enjoyment and sheer fun. You will be amazed by the magic of the high seas and of exotic destinations and you will make a voyage that is going to stay in your memory forever.

A Disney cruise is not really dependant on your image of the dream vacation because if you go on a Disney cruise everything that you could wish for is available for you aboard the ships. So you make it yourself a dream vacation, because you have all the necessary means. You can be a child or an adult, it doesn’t really matter. You are guaranteed to find whatever you’re looking for onboard the Disney Cruise ships.

The oceanliners are nothing short of world class and they will provide you with very spacious staterooms, which are among the largest you’ll ever come across in this industry. The Disney touch is very obvious on the decor. This is the room which will be your home for the number of days in which the cruise takes place, so make sure you choose the one which suits you best, whether it’s an inside cabin or a room with a verandah.

The dining rooms are very original also, like anything that Disney represents. Three original themed restaurants wait you on each of the Disney cruise ships. If you choose the 7-days cruise, you will have the opportunity of dining in each one of those three restaurants at least once during your vacation. If you choose a 3-days cruise, you will dine in each restaurant once. If you want to go on a 4-days cruise you are going for, then you are going to do a repeat.

The age specific activities present on board of the Disney cruise ships are many and attractive. The children activities are everything a child could dream of, because after all making children happy is one of the things that Disney does best.

For children, there’s The Oceaneer club which is always a very good option. Also, they can choose to participate in different activities that are being held each day. A child can choose slipping and sliding down the chute into the Mickey’s Pool, splashing in Goofy’s Family Pool, or stretching for a good morning’s workout at Goofy’s Family Fitness.

Adult activities are plentiful, as well. The Cove Cafe is a good option for people aged 18+ to start their day with a specialty coffee. You can also swim in the adults’ pool, go to the Spa and end your day in a night club.

The itineraries for Disney cruises are varied. From the Eastern Caribbean to the Western Caribbean, from the Disney private paradise to the highly anticipated European itinerary, the offers list and is especially designed to please everyone.

You will have the pleasure of finding everything else you could wish for aboard these ships: cinemas, basketball courts, shuffleboard or ping pong playing places, Internet access for people who want to stay in touch with friends and family, everything is available.

As a conclusion, it doesn’t really matter what age, sex, ethnic group you are, there are no restrictions when it comes down to Disney vacation, and you will remember the voyage for the rest of your life.

Daniel Millions asked:

Whether you plan on going with your significant other or have children in tow, wonder awaits as you make your way to sunny Orlando, Florida, USA, for a Disney World vacation. There is surely something that will appeal to children and adults of all ages at one of the four Disney World theme parks. Here is a brief overview of each one.

No trip to Disney World would be complete without a visit to the Magic Kingdom. You could easily spend more than a day visiting its five different lands: Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Liberty Square. You will be in awe of the network of underground tunnels that connect all of the sections of the Magic Kingdom. Here are some attractions that you will not want to miss no matter what age you may be: Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise. Space Mountain is still a great attraction. Don’t forget the parades and fireworks that are sure to take your breath away!

Epcot Center came on the Disney World scene in 1982. In times past, it was considered to be an adult park, but even now the kids that walk through this theme park can have a blast. One of the things that cater to the youngsters are the kidcot stations that you can find at every venue. Children are able to create free souvenirs to take home with them. You can also find Disney characters throughout Epcot Center. This theme park consists of two main areas, World Showcase and Future World. Spaceship Earth traces the history of communication.

You will surely want to go on Soarin, the most popular ride in Epcot. If you enjoyed The Lion King, you are certain to enjoy the Circle of Life film that is hosted by Simba, Timon and Pumba. You can actually take a boat ride which will give you a tour of fish production and greenhouses. To round out your stay at Epcot Center, be sure to visit the 5.7 million gallon aquarium which houses sea turtles, sharks, dolphins and all sorts of other fish. If you want to squeeze in one last attraction, you will want to see IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.

The third theme park to visit in Disney World is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It officially opened on May 1, 1989, just beating out Universal Studios which opened the very next year. At the time that this theme park opened, the only attractions were The Backlot Tour, Great Movie Ride, Sounds Dangerous and the Magic of Disney Animation. Later that year Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular was added as an attraction. The very next year Sorcery in the Sky, an evening fireworks show made its debut. In 1994, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror made its mark on this theme park.

Be sure to go on the Rock n Roll Coaster, another attraction that was added in 1999. If you like live performances, you will not want to miss the stage show Beauty and the Beast. The one downer to this theme park is that many of the attractions and shows are a bit long and will make some of the kids squirm in their seats adults included.

The newest theme park to hit Disney World was Disney’s Animal Kingdom which opened on April 22, 1998. This park consists of 500 acres and is home to approximately 1,700 animals that represent about 250 different species. You will not want to miss riding on the Kilimanjaro Safari which will take you through the African Savannah. However, you will probably be traveling too fast to be able to get any really good pictures of the animals. There you have it a bird’s eye view of Disney World. With a little forethought and planning, this could possibly be your best Disney vacation ever.

SAMUEL
Craig Smith asked:

Disney World is a much sought-after destination for family vacationing. However, with all of the activities and sights to see at the Magic Kingdom, the bills could pile up as high as Space Mountain. Even with the tightest wallet, a family of four could spend thousands to see Cinderella’s Castle. If you and your family are planning a trip to Disney World, saving every penny will allow you to see more parks and spend more time in the Kingdom. A budget-friendly Disney vacation can be yours - and these five tips can help make that a reality!

Tip #1: Go for the package deal.

Millions of people visit Disney World each year. So, of course, Disney has a number of package deals available to help make your stay more convenient. Many people opt to instead stay in other non-Disney hotels, plan budget meals, and so forth, but the truth is that you can save a lot of money by simply making your trip centered on Disney. The packaged deals they offer really do help you save money.

Tip #2: Compare your travel options.

Some families choose to drive instead fly when going on vacation. However, with gas prices through the roof, this may not be the best option. It depends on a number of factors including the efficiency of your car, the distance to Orlando, the size of your family, the ages of your children, and the time of year during which you plan to travel. If you have a small family, want to travel during the off-season, and live far from Florida, heading to the airport may be your best choice.

Taking a train or bus to get to Disney World is another option many families choose. A bus or train is a great choice if your children are older and you live within a reasonable distance from Orlando. The key to finding the best price is to research and compare options. If possible, also work with a travel agent to find the best prices in a package deal or group discount. If you want to make the most budget -friendly choice for your Disney World vacation, be sure to explore every travel option before packing your bags.

Tip #3: Check into Disney Club prices for accommodations.

Some families visit Disney World more than just once, and, if your family qualifies, being a member of the Disney Vacation Club can save you money. This club is not equivalent to owning a timeshare with Disney, but you get “points” for your membership, which can then be redeemed at any one of their many club resorts, which are only available to club members. It is important to note that this is not a real estate investment. It is simply a way to save money and make the most of a Disney World vacation if you live nearby and plan to travel to the Magic Kingdom more than once..

However, even if you don’t have the resources to do that, the Disney Club may be able to help you. Points expire after a certain period of time, so if a member cannot make it to Disney, it is possible to sell the points. Once you purchase these points, Disney accommodations become available for a reduced rate! Do your research, and, if the points can help you save, buy some for your family vacation.

Tip #4: Buy a meal plan and eat off-site for the meals not covered.

Food is expensive in the Magic Kingdom, and, you are not permitted to take your own food into the park. If you plan to spend the entire day exploring Disney World’s parks, you will most likely dine at them as well. While time may fly when you’re having fun, hunger does not, so consider one of Disney’s meal plans, which is part of the vacation packages they offer. With the meal plans, you pay one set price for a certain number of dinners and snacks per day. That means you can get more for your money! Another option is getting your hand stamped and leaving the park for lunch. Orlando does have some great family options that are less expensive than food in the park itself. So, perhaps this would be the best option for your family.

Tip #5: Buy Disney Dollars online.

Disney Dollars are exchangeable at a 1:1 rate, but only in Disney itself. You can use them for most souvenirs and food in the parks, as well as in some non-park stores. Many people like to buy Disney Dollars to give their children a “Disney allowance” for items at the park, which is a great idea. However, if you buy them online ahead of time, it is possible to save some money. Because Disney Dollars cannot be used anywhere else or exchanged back to regular dollars, people who have them left over usually sell them for less than a 1:1 rate.

Disney World can fill your imagination but it does not have to empty your wallet in the process. There are many affordable options you and your family can take advantage of in order to place this vacation in your price range. Do your homework, do some research, and you should be able to find a Disney World option that works for best you. Above all else, have a great time, and enjoy your stay in the Magic Kingdom!

Stephanie Larkin asked:

Each year, many people who travel to the Orlando Florida area usually spend a few days visiting Walt Disney World. It would be difficult not to, Walt Disney World is one of the greatest theme parks on the planet. Considering the myriad of attractions available to visitors of the Magic Kingdom, planning a vacation that allows you and your family to see as much of the parks as possible can be a daunting task. A great way to ensure that you and your family will get the most out of your vacation time is to stay at a Disney resort instead of another hotel outside of the park area. Disney Resorts offers guests a multitude of extras that can make a Walt Disney World vacation unforgettable for you and your family.

The majority of visitors to Disney World are families with children. Most parents are aware of how difficult it can be to travel with kids. Imagine driving long distances each day from a hotel outside the park areas with excited children. Over the course of several days, that pattern could become extremely tiresome. Staying at a Disney resort right on the property can cut transportation time, gas and stress a great deal. If you consider the time spent driving from an Orlando hotel and the time spent in the parking lot, and also the time getting out of the park each day and back to your room, it can really add up. Now, compare that scenario to hopping onto a free monorail, boat or shuttle bus outside the Disney resort. Even if the difference is only 45 minutes, that equates to an hour and a half every day, for every family member. So, for the average family of 4 who visit for 5 days, that’s 30 hours of time that the family can be enjoying attractions instead of commuting back and forth to their hotel.

Staying at a Disney Resort is beneficial in many ways. Everyone knows that having fun can be exhausting at times. It’s good to be able to take a short break in the middle of the afternoon to relax in a quiet space for a short nap or rest. Not only does it refresh the body for a full evening of celebrations, it’s a good time to don clean clothes, change shoes, or obtain any forgotten items. Returning to the hotel room for this needed break is virtually impossible unless a guest is staying right on the property. Traveling beyond Disney properties and back would be extremely inconvenient. Disney Resort guests can get back to their room easily and relatively quickly. Plus, the best time to take advantage of any Disney Resort’s fantastic, landscaped pool area is during the heat of a typical Florida afternoon!

Although the advantages of staying at a Disney resort are considerable, it’s not just the logistics of the Disney Resort locations and the availability of free ground transportation that makes it worthwhile to stay within the park. There are numerous other advantages that make it clear why staying at a Disney resort hotel can maximize a family’s enjoyment while on vacation.

Extra Magic Hours- Disney Resort Guests can enjoy Theme Parks more than other guests. One park daily opens an hour early and closes up to 3 hours later just for Disney Resort Guests to enjoy at their leisure, offering shorter lines and cooler temperatures. (The water parks of Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open one hour early for Disney Resort Guests every day.)

Disney Magic Express- Disney Resort Guests can attach specialized baggage tags before checking in at participating hometown airports.
